Celebrating it's 81st anniversary this year, the Alma Sports Club has produced wide-eyed reactions from first time visitors. Stunned to discover this treasure, visitors and members can enjoy sporting and social life backed by the glorious flora of the Willis Teague green. An enticing environment for everything ranging from hearty revelry to international sports success.
Pat Rafter has enjoyed belting backhands on the three porous tennis courts. Squash legend, Geoff Hunt calls “Alma” home, as does World Champion, Sarah Fitzgerald. Lawns bowls swoops from competitive pennant competitions to jolly “barefoot bowls” and sausage sizzles in the wake of the hit movie, Crackerjack. Even Australian legend, Bill Ponsford was a regular on the green.
